GOOD EVENING, MAYOR AND COUNCIL, RHONDA SMITH, 76, LONG ISLAND PLACE, SANDY SPRINGS I AM HERE SPEAKING ON BEHALF OF THE SANDY SPRINGS COUNCIL OF NEIGHBORHOODS TONIGHT, AND SOME OF YOU MAY NOT KNOW THAT 9755 ROBERTS DRIVE HAS A VERY LONG HISTORY OF REQUESTS FOR A CHANGE IN LAND USE FOR MORE THAN THE LAST TWO DECADES. FOR 23 YEARS, TO BE EXACT. IT WAS BROUGHT FIRST BEFORE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AND THEN AFTER 2005, BEFORE MULTIPLE CITY COUNCILS WITH AN ASK TO BE REZONED FOR ONE COMMERCIAL USE OR ANOTHER. THE ROBERTS DRIVE COMMUNITY, AS A UNITED NEIGHBORHOOD, UNDERSTANDING AND INSISTING THAT COMMERCIAL USES AT THE GATEWAY TO THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD WERE NOT APPROPRIATE, MET THOSE REQUESTS WITH OPPOSITION AND A WILLINGNESS TO WAIT TO SUPPORT AN ACCEPTABLE AND COMPATIBLE NEIGHBORHOOD. USE OF LAND OF THE LAND. TODAY, YOU FINALLY SEE A REQUEST TO REZONE TO A RESIDENTIAL DETACHED ZONING DISTRICT. THE RD 7.5 ZONING DISTRICT IS AN ACCEPTABLE ALTERNATIVE. THIS IS WHAT THE

THE COMMUNITY ACCEPTS RESIDENTIAL SINGLE FAMILY DETACHED HOMES. COUNCIL OF NEIGHBORHOODS ASKS YOU TO APPROVE THIS REZONING, INCLUSIVE OF ALL OF THE PRESCRIBED STAFF CONDITIONS AS WRITTEN TO ENSURE THE OUTCOME FOR 9755 ROBERTS DRIVE IS WHAT THE COMMUNITY EXPECTS AND WHAT THEY SELECTED WAITING FOR.

AS YOU'RE FAMILIAR WITH WITH SOME OTHER PROJECTS WHERE WE PURSUED THOSE ENVIRONMENTAL MITIGATION CREDITS BEFORE, IN THIS CASE, THE CALCULATED TOTAL NUMBER OF STREAM MITIGATION CREDITS REQUIRED DUE TO THE IMPACTS ON THESE STREAMS IS SOME 7,144.65 STREAM MITIGATION CREDITS AT A COST PER CREDIT AS LOCATED AND AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET, CURRENTLY AT A COST OF $325 PER CREDIT FOR A TOTAL PURCHASE PRICE, IN THIS CASE OF $2,322,011.
